Masala Chicken Kebabs

About the dish 

The Seekh Kebab, believed to have originated when Turkish soldiers used to hunt for meat at night, skewer it on their sword and roast it over the bonfire, is a favourite of any quintessential meat lover. This recipe features chicken Seekh Kebabs in a delicious masala gravy.

The Ingredients

1 packet of readymade chicken Seekh Kebabs
Oil
1 tablespoon butter
3 onions, finely chopped
3 green chillies, chopped
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon fresh cream
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander

The Method

Take about eight to nine chicken Seekh Kebabs, and saute them in hot oil. Remove, chop them into small pieces, and keep aside. In a non-stick pan, heat oil and one tablespoon butter, and add three finely chopped onions and three chopped green chillies. Cook till the onions turn light brown.

Keep mixing on a low flame, and add one tablespoon ginger-garlic paste and one teaspoon each of turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Further, add salt as per taste and one tablespoon fresh cream. Mix well till the oil separates, and add the chopped kebabs. Garnish with chopped coriander, cover, and cook for ten minutes.

The Result

Masala Chicken Kebabs

Serve hot with bread or chapatis. It can also be used as a filling in a buttered burger bun or a chapati.
